Gasworks Park

Gasworks Park is the second free photo guide for Washington State!

Gasworks Park is home to remnants of the only coal gasification plant in the United States and also some of the best views of downtown Seattle. The park sits on the north side of Lake Union and is undoubtedly a haven for photographers.

Several other guides are in the works but I'm always looking for help. A few people have already volunteered to contribute to the site but we always need more - remember this is a community project that is only as good as those who participate and contribute!

First Washington State Photo Guide: Washington Park Arboretum

Welcome to the Washington, USA, section of the Free Photo Guides.

I published the first Washington guide today - the Washington Park Arboretum and Foster Island. Washington Park sits on the western shores of Lake Washington and provides ample opportunity for all kinds of photographic styles.

The guide is almost complete. One of the shortcomings of Google Knol is that there is no ability to embed a Google map directly in the Knol. Instead I'm working on creating smaller sections of the map that will link to the larger, interactive map.

In the coming days and weeks I'll be contacting many of you to help contribute to the Washington site - this is one of the most beautiful areas of the country and with so many great photographers I expect we can contribute a lot to this project!

If you're anxious to get started please download the contributors guide on the main project site and of course email me if you've got any questions.

Lastly, thanks to Brent for putting this great project together!

Thanks - Brian.
